Gasoline Companies - The Big Questions
by: FINDgascards.com Staff
When it comes down to gasoline companies, there are so many questions that people have and don’t get answers to. From where should I get my gas to which gas company is the shadiest, there are so many companies out there, it’s hard to keep our eyes peeled on all of them. The purpose of this writing today is to inform you on some topical questions that you can get an answer to.
What gas companies exist?
In the United States alone, there are thousands of gas stations. From mom and pop no name gas stations to the big wig gas stations like Shell, Exxon-Mobile, and Marathon, it’s hard to be loyal to a gas station when there are so many choices. If you’ve been driving for a while, you’ve probably noticed that each gas station is relatively the same. From the snacks and sodas to very similar gas prices, it all comes down to the customer service.
What is the best gas company?
This question stems off of the first question. There really isn’t a “best” gas company; it all comes down to what you’re comfortable with and how you’re treated. Most gas companies are owned by private owners. Like a subway sandwich shop, most gas stations are franchised. So a BP in Michigan may have different service than a BP in California. The same goes with gas prices. You can really call a gas station company out o their gas prices. The gas prices really depend on the location and the current market and state. This will vary depending on where you are currently driving.
Who is the leader in gasoline?
As of 2008 Exxon Mobile was the leader in the gas industry. In their family includes popular gas station names such as Shell and BP. They have over 50,000 gas stations worldwide and continue to dominate the market with revenue share. Does this mean that they’re the best? Absolutely not. It all comes down to location and management from the higher levels.
What do gas stations makes?
When you see the huge profits of oil companies, you being to wonder how much the little guy makes at his gas station. Believe it or not, the average gallon makes the owner about nine cents. Sure, this money adds up over time but the next time you’re in the gas stations, you can’t assume you’re fill up is going all into the owner’s pocket. Remember also that the owner generally doesn’t conduct the prices; it’s all up to the market.
There are so many questions when it comes to gas companies. A lot of this information can be found on corporate websites or message board forums. The biggest issue has been the prices with gas and the companies producing record prices. How come there are record profits and the gas prices are still ridiculously high? No one can really answer that question but as we continue to drive, the demand will still be there and the prices will always be out of hand.
