Are Auto Gas Savers a Fraud?
by: Tom Tessin

When it comes to filling up your gas tank, the first thing you tend to think about is how can I save on gas and how can I get better gas mileage?  What a lot of people find themselves doing when they are looking on how to save on gas is research.  If you have done a little research, you may have found yourself finding products that say they can save you money on gas by getting yourself better gas mileage.

When it comes to products that help you get better gas mileage, there are a few things that you should look out for before you even purchase a product.  Please keep in mind that 99% of the products out there don’t do anything to your car.  It’s only going help one thing and that’s the companies’ pocket.  So, when looking at these products, there are a few things you should look out for to suspect fraud.

Claims that sound too good to be true

If you find a product that says “improve your gas mileage by twenty percent”, it’s almost certain that this claim is false.  The EPA (environmental protection agency) has done study after study on these so called devices and have found that none of them have lived up to these claims.  In fact, they have found that these devices actually did more harm than good.  They have found that it actually did some damage to the car’s engine and I’m sure you know, if you kill the engine, you basically kill the car.  The engine is usually the most expensive part on the automobile.

Look into the company

If you do spot a device that seems to be legit, make sure that you do your research on the company.  The best place to start is the Better Business Bureau or otherwise known as BBB.  If you do a quick search on the business, you should be able to get an understanding of what the company is all about.  You’ll be able to get information on how long they’ve been in business, etc.  Another great place to look into a company is the internet.  The internet is the world at your fingertips and is a great way to find great and negative reviews.

Watch out for the false information

When you find yourself on the gas device website, you may see testimonials or other “false” claims.  Don’t take anything for granted because I or you both could easily throw up a website and make something look like the best thing that has ever come along.  Your best bet is to do what I mentioned in the last paragraph and do extensive research.

The sole purpose of this article is just to bring gas devices to your attention.  The chances of something like this working on your car are very slim.  Make sure you do your research and think about your car before you think about saving on gas.
